“Who needs to lose or win for the Dallas Cowboys to make it to the Superbowl?” I asked in a somber voice based on the sad news I heard about the COWBOYS. What? No! Dak’s hand is ok. It’s not broken and if it was, do you think Jerry Jones will let us disclose that? Hell to the No, No.

“Don’t worry about that, this is the AFC,” a football snob answered.

My Inner Child: “Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, don’t engage. Do not engage.”

Also me: Bitch, I know this is the AFC, but I’m not talking about the Chiefs! I distinctly said, COWBOYS. Let me spell it out 4 u. N F C!

My Inner Child: She’s going to drag me to hell with her.

RIP: Terry Glen 43, Former Dallas Cowboy

Forty three y/o former Dallas Cowboy, wide receiver, Terry Glenn died in a car accident Nov 20, 2017early morning as Thursday transition onto Friday.

He was heading east on 114 in Irving, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. He died at the scene. His fiance was with him. She’s without life threatening injuries, and badly shaken, no doubt. May God allmighty watch over her, his family and friends.

What you don’t know about Terry Glenn. His mom was abducted and killed when he was, I think 12 years old. He became a child of the foster home system, and he founded The 83 Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings awareness to children of the health care system and fosters a caring environment to those children. He died knowing his team was on a high note: Cowboys 38 Washington 14 as his accident happened as he was leaving the game.

Terry Glenn, thank you for making Earth a better place than you found it by making a difference in the lives of all the people you touched with your courage and strength as you survived the foster care system, defying the odds of making it to the NFL, and with your performaces at Ohio State, the Patriots, Green Bay Packers, and Dallas Cowboys, and your work with The 83 kids Foundation.

1. Wake up early on off days except Sunday.

3. Weights 3 times a week.

4. Dance once a week and once for the month.

5. Learn Portuguese and sign language.

7. Hone in your French speaking.

6. Take up Math to the next level.

7. Study GRE.

8. Take GRE in 3 months.

9. Pray more.

10. Publish…….book…..Yeah. You are so ready. “)

11. Incorporate entrepreneurial bizz.

12. Start Masters Program.

Alcohol Is By The Pharmacy

I woke up Thanksgiving morning to the sweet smell of- nothing, and the sounds of- nothing. Suddenly I felt the urge to rejoice. Could it be? Could today my wish of not eating turkey on Thanksgiving be granted?

Then my phone started going off. “We” have to cook and it has to be ready by noon.

I don’t mind eating like a schizophrenic, cooking like one though… Yeah, I have a problem with that.

First item on my list, Tequila and every Liquor store was closed, except Walmart.

“Excuse me? Where’s the alcohol? I asked.

“It’s by the pharmacy,” a staff member answered.

Me, “Yeah, it’s not that type of pain.”

He had no idea what I was looking for, but in a matter of seconds Santa’s helpers filtered through the isles to point me in the right direction-out of state because Walmart did not have alcohol at this location.

“You Drop Your Cheese”

I don’t need to check my bag. I’ll just leave my stuff in the car which is a plus because any one who has run 5K or more knows that everything becomes extremely heavy when running. Sunglasses can feel like 5 pounds. A t- shirt-forget it.

This is a long run, so I packed a lunch because I’m not going for first place. I have 2 KIND bars, cheese sticks, two as well because I like Closure. Get it? Closure as in Mathematics because they’re both even #s?

Anyway, as I passed mile one, I heard from a distance, “You drop your cheese.” I’ve hit the wall before on a 26.2 race, and I never forgot that. I swore that I would never go through that again. One never knows, if the race will have enough volunteers, water posts or goodies throughout the course. Everyone was losing stuff throughout the race, it wasn’t just me and my cheese.

It’s All Fun And Games ‘Till The Gun Goes Off

“Excuse me? Hello? Where’s the starting line?” I asked anxiously. A gentleman who was working on putting up the starting line walked halfway in my direction and yelled as if he wanted to be heard without having to take any more steps than necessary to answer my question replied, “right here. It’s here.” “Where’s everybody?” I asked “It doesn’t start ’till 8:30 AM,” he responded as if asking to himself “why the hell are you here so early?”

Me anxious about the run? No, I just wanted to make sure I was in the right place.

I’ve been to long runs before. Most make a huge party a day or 2 when picking up your packet yet this one had a feeling of a Ma’ and Pa’ type of run, only it wasn’t. It was actually a Boston Qualifying event!

Me? Qualifying? NO! I’m just reclaiming my health by helping my body remember the glory years.
